Petition: Call for New Leadership at FIFA

Football belongs to the fans. Not to politicians, not to corporate sponsors, and not to FIFA executives who have forgotten who the game is actually for.Gianni Infantino's leadership has damaged the integrity, independence and reputation of world football. We call on FIFA's Member Associations and the FIFA Congress to remove him and replace him with leadership that puts football first.

 

Five Reasons Why Gianni Infantino Must Go​

1. Increasing political involvement

FIFA claims to be politically neutral, yet Gianni Infantino has blurred the line between football and politics. From presenting a FIFA-related peace award to U.S. President Donald Trump to the controversy surrounding President Trump's publicly stated intervention regarding Folarin Balogun's suspension, many supporters believe FIFA has allowed politics to influence the world's game. Football decisions must never be shaped by political power or access.

2. Fans are being priced out of the World Cup

Many supporters feel that attending the FIFA World Cup has become increasingly unaffordable. High ticket prices, together with additional fees and commissions on FIFA's official resale platform, place the tournament beyond the reach of many lifelong football fans.

3. Money is taking priority over football

We believe the introduction of multiple hydration breaks during World Cup matches unnecessarily disrupts the flow of the game and primarily benefits commercial advertising opportunities. Football should prioritise sporting integrity over additional commercial breaks.

4. Trust in officiating is lost

Every nation must compete under the same rules. Instead, many fans believe recent FIFA tournaments have featured controversial refereeing and disciplinary decisions that have disproportionately benefited larger footballing nations and superstar players while smaller/low ranking nations have been treated more harshly. Football decisions should be made solely on the basis of the rules and applied equally to every player and every nation.

5. Restoring football's integrity

Many supporters believe FIFA has become increasingly focused on politics, commercial interests and corporate partnerships instead of protecting the traditions and integrity of the world's most popular sport. Football deserves leadership that puts the game, its players and its supporters first.

We respectfully call upon FIFA Member Associations and the FIFA Congress to:

• Replace Gianni Infantino as FIFA President.

• Restore FIFA's political neutrality and independence.

• Make the FIFA World Cup affordable and accessible for genuine football supporters.

• Prioritise sporting integrity over commercial interests.

• Strengthen transparency, accountability and consistency in refereeing and disciplinary decisions.

 

Football deserves leadership that earns the trust of players, supporters, officials and nations alike.
